Showing good deeds in social networks an ostentation in itself?

Showing good deeds in social networks an ostentation in itself?

Bismillah Ar-Rahmân Ar-Rahîm.

Assalâmu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakâtuh,

Seeing certain personalities on social media show their good deeds, I have often asked myself the question why?

Some say, for example, that it’s to motivate people to give and work for good.

What I did not understand is that I learned during my studies that a work given out ostentatiously would be fortuitous, reduced to dust and that you had to be so discreet that the left hand did not know what give the right hand.

However, one can agree on one thing, each action is only valid by his intention (Niyya). This is concretized in particular via the hadith (prophetic story):

The prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “All acts are valued only according to the intention which inspires them. Each one has of his work only the value of his intention ”(Reported by Al Bukhari and Muslim may God grant them mercy).

The prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “All acts are valued only according to the intention which inspires them. Each one has of his work only the value of his intention ”(Reported by Al Bukhari and Muslim may God grant them mercy).

In addition, there are the conditions for accepting the good deed:

 - Believe in Allah azawajel The only One (Ahadun ahad) ("Those who believe and do good works will have for residence the Gardens of" Firdaws "(Paradise)" (sura el-kahf [18], v107).

- Sincerity: To act for Allah alone, without ostentation or search for notoriety.

- The agreement with what was reported by the Messenger of Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala.

- That the person does not cancel his belief by a disbelief or any form of association (to Allah azawajel) by diverting part of the worship to other than Allah azawajel, such as the invocation of prophets or 'oualy', of the dead and ask for their assistance.

Some contemporary scholars advise to stay away from showing good deeds, even if this is for the purpose of motivating people to do good works themselves.

They evoke the fact in particular that social networks corrupt hearts, that it destroys the sincerity of the hearts of people except for the one to whom Allah azawajel he has mercy.

They also advise to be sufficient to mention the verses, the ahadith and the words of the pious predecessors inciting to the pious works without mentioning his own case or his works.

I fully understand that the choice is difficult especially if we see that many multiply this way of doing things.

Personally, I choose to hide my actions because I do not want to take the risk that it is erased.

And I choose other ways to motivate people to participate, such as disseminating ahadith expressing the benefits of doing good deeds, disseminating announcements before the action carried out, sharing messages of satisfaction but while keeping a certain modesty and especially not to show via films or photos when I carry out an action.

This is a personal choice and I do not know the intention (Niyya) of the people who show their action to know whether it will be accepted or rejected.

Exalted God be He accepts your good works as well as ours.
